I AM THE WAY

"I am the way, the truth, and the life, and no one comes to the Father except by Me."       (JN 14:6)

     By Me.

That is, “by My way”, because “I am the way…”   Ultimately God's way really: the path of forgiveness leading from the cross where His only begotten Son Jesus died interceding for you, to a place in your life where you finally admit “the truth”.  The truth that God is sovereign and you need Him.  That you need His mercy, made available to you as a gift by Jesus’ intercession on the cross.

Going His way you receive a pardon from the Father God.  And with this pardon, “life”: abundant life on this earth that continues into everlasting life with our Father God in His heavenly kingdom.

In JN 14:6 Jesus was emphasizing His divinity, and thus His membership in the Trinity—the Godhead.  In saying “except by Me” He means you can’t come to the central figure of the Trinity, God the Father, the great I AM—any other way than by the Trinity.

In fact, when you are ready to acknowledge your unrighteousness you can call out for forgiveness to any person of the Trinity, in order to be pardoned!  Whether to Father God Himself, or to Son Jesus, even to Their Spirit—for they are all as One.  They are equal partners in the Godhead.

Not only can you call out to any member of the Godhead in repentance, you can even do so without speaking aloud!  Just as you have spiritual eyes, what God's Word calls the "eyes of your heart" you have a spiritual mouth—a voice in your heart commonly called your inner voice.  You can use it to silently call out to the Lord.  "For God looks at the heart."   (1SM 16:7)

The bottom line is that God loves us so much, He makes it easy to choose Him if you’re sincere about it.  HE WANTS NO ONE TO END UP IN ETERNAL DARKNESS, SEPARATED FROM HIM FOREVERMORE…  (2PE 3:9)
